what i found that upset elders more than most things was, when you made them verify their statement with scriptural backing.. when you showed their complete lack of common sense coupled with lack of christian knowledge.. on one occasion when having a heated discussion, i constantly made them refer to the org.
book for the answer, they ridiculed me, saying "are you getting your little green book out again".. all i was trying to point out was the answer (according to the society) on the subject at hand, most organisation will have some sort of code of conduct, the little green book was theirs.. they wanted to be right in all things even if it meant going against the org.. kt.

"friends" have lost their jobs......so what.
"friends" are depressed.....so what.
"friends" are being kicked to the curb, because they're not in the clique...so what.. the local needs talk was, raise your hands higher for the wt conductor who will not call on those with names he forgets.
The lamest "local needs" part that I've heard recently in my current congregation was this:
"How To Comment"
It just so happens that this elder body just couldn't handle the diverse, deep, meditative and reflective thoughts of the small handful of publishers when they gave comments. This elder (secretary) stipulated to comment in this concrete order (1) give a brief answer as stated in the paragraph, (2) mention the scripture quoted/sited in your comment and (3) try to make a final comment that will lead into the next paragraph.
Mechanical....yet safe.
Yes, the general bunch in the hall are drones. However, some publishers in my congregation are educated and some are very insightful. Thus, the curve ball thrown when these elders conduct a study session. I actually believe that some of these publishers do comment (like I do) with major league words in an intuitive manner OUT OF SPITE. Ha Ha Ha.

illustration aboutobedience given by a brother at a new kingdom hall in new england:.
do you realize that in the bible there are many instances of situations.
where jehovah's people were given directions that made no sense from .
The difference between the Biblical examples and the FDS is paramount! And this speaker/brother wants to encourage "obedience" on the same level? Sickening cult speak.
Jehovah God spoke (through his Word or angels) directly with Abraham, Moses, Noah..etc.
The FDS doesn't claim such. So why should we deem their words as being from God? And if they DID claim such, then that ought to ring some bells.

things must be getting tough for the 'number puffing' theocrats in japan.. .
3802 congregations (1999 yearbook).
3213 congregations (latest report).
Update on Japan's congregation figures: 2008 Yearbook = 3,177 congregations. 2009 Yearbook = 3,177 congregations. No additions, no subtractions. Makes me wonder... Alligator Wisdom (aka Brother NOT Exerting Vigorously)
i count my blessings.
i picked up a kingdom ministry for february and saw, once again, the mindless horror that the organization has evolved into.
there's the grade school reading level.
1) Nice post Metatron. What you write is what I see at my Hall.
2) Welcome onboard Truth & Justice. I'll remember that. Jer 23:32. Thanks!

so i hit the 500 post milestone.
when i joined, i had just mentally 'snapped' the day before, and broke out of the mind control.
i knew it wasn't the truth, and proudly i did this with my own discernment.
Thanks for what you contribute to this board.

forgetting (and forgiving for the sake of discussion) all of the changes, mistakes and errors between the teachings from the late 1800's to 1920 by the bible students, what exactly was the "proper food" being dispensed during the "proper time" when jesus supposedly made his choice of this group of people to be the sole harbringers of truth?
i am assuming all of those changes/mistakes/errors, of course were not proper food, so what were the things being taught during jesus's selection that led him to select the bible students?
is there anything truly unique (and correct/accurate/proper) that can be claimed by the bible students during that time period that could warrant jesus' choice?.
What exactly was the proper food at the proper time?
John 6:27
Food that was good yesterday but isn't today isn't food at the proper time (i.e. doctrinal changes). Proper food, Biblically speaking, never expires. Farkel hit the nail on the head with the two fundamentals Jesus Christ stated.

RR, I noticed that there were only three tickets left on the sheet. Wasn't there anything worth 30 cents on the menu in 1981 that you could have spent it on?
I remember having one/two tickets left over and couldn't buy anything. So what did all of you do with your left over tickets? Did you pool them with others so that at least you could get a soda?
